EPA Tier 4 Final Diesel Generators
EPA Tier 4 Final is the strictest emergency-stationary diesel emissions tier in the United States, applying to most engines ≥56 kW manufactured after 2014. Compliance generally requires a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) for PM, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF/urea) for NOx, and engine-side EGR. Operationally, T4F adds DEF refill scheduling, periodic DPF active regeneration, and increased service complexity vs older Tier 2/3 units.
