Diesel Backup Generators

Diesel is the dominant fuel for commercial and industrial standby power above 60 kW. It offers high energy density (≈138,000 BTU/gal vs ≈1,000 BTU/cf for natural gas), fast load acceptance, on-site fuel storage that's independent of utility infrastructure, and well-understood maintenance economics. The trade-offs are EPA Tier emissions compliance, fuel polishing requirements, and the operational cost of maintaining a diesel inventory. Below are diesel generator models we service and maintain in the field, with manufacturer specifications and our own service-interval observations.
