480V three-phase (277/480 wye) is the dominant commercial and industrial distribution voltage in the United States. Most generators above ~50 kW are reconnectable for 480V operation; many are factory-set for 480V at the load and step down to 208V or 240V via an on-site dry-type transformer where needed. ATS sizing and breaker selection follow the genset's full-load amps at 480V.
