Overview#
The Echo DGK7F is a 7 kVA compact portable diesel generator — the smallest unit in Echo's diesel lineup. Built in Japan by Yamabiko Corporation (formerly Shindaiwa) with over 50 years of generator heritage and documented runtimes exceeding 30,000 hours. Powered by a Kubota Z482 two-cylinder diesel engine, the DGK7F delivers 6.5 kW continuous power in a sound-attenuated enclosure measuring just 62 dBA at 7 meters no-load (64 dBA full load). Tier 4 Final and CARB compliant with S.E.T. Smart Emissions Technology for active DPF regeneration under light loads.
SimulPhase Technology Advantage#
The DGK7F features Echo's patented SimulPhase technology — a capability unique in the portable generator market. SimulPhase allows the unit to deliver single-phase and three-phase power simultaneously from a single generator, eliminating the need for external step-down transformers on mixed-load jobsites. No competing manufacturer offers this dual-output capability. For contractors running a mix of 120V lighting and small three-phase equipment, the DGK7F replaces what would otherwise require two separate generators or a generator plus transformer setup, reducing both equipment cost and site footprint.
Our Service Experience#
As authorized service providers in Northern California, we maintain Echo DGK Series generators across the Bay Area and Central Valley. The Kubota Z482 engine in the DGK7F is a proven industrial powerplant with excellent parts availability through Kubota's dealer network. Service intervals are straightforward — 250-hour oil changes and 500-hour fuel and air filter replacements. The compact size of the DGK7F makes it easy to transport for field service calls. Echo backs the DGK Series with a 3-year warranty, the longest in the portable generator class, reflecting Yamabiko's confidence in the Shindaiwa engineering heritage behind every unit.
