Blue Star NG1250-01
1250 kW standby · Natural Gas · Liquid-cooled
1250 kW natural-gas-only standby generator from Blue Star Power Systems. PSI 53LHO high-output V16 turbocharged-aftercooled, DSE DCP7310 controller, three-phase 480-4160V. LP not available.
The Blue Star NG1250-01 is a 1,250-kilowatt natural-gas-only standby generator built on the PSI 53LHO high-output V16 platform. It is rated 1,250 kWe standby on natural gas at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM. LP fuel is not available on this model. Available in 480V, 600V, and 4160V three-phase configurations only. UL 2200, cUL, and CSA certifications are not listed on the spec sheet — confirm AHJ requirements before specifying.
The NG1250-01 is the highest-output single-unit standby generator in Blue Star's published gaseous product line.
The PSI 53LHO is a specialized platform with limited field presence. Service at this output class requires coordinating directly with PSI for parts and technical support. At 16 cylinders and 1,926 bHp, scheduled maintenance intervals must be tracked carefully — higher-output engine tuning increases thermal stress on ignition components.

Estimate runtime on this tank
Fuel demand at 75% load
13,125,000 BTU/hr≈ 13125.0 cf/min @ 1,000 BTU/cf
On utility natural gas the runtime is generally unlimited provided the supply line and meter can deliver this BTU/hr at the engine's required inlet pressure (typically 5–14" WC residential, up to 5 psi commercial). Confirm against the OEM's published fuel-pressure spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the standby rating of the NG1250-01?
The Blue Star NG1250-01 is rated 1,250 kWe standby on natural gas only at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM. LP fuel is not available on this model. Deration is 0.8% per 5°F above 77°F inlet air temperature and 2.5% per 1,000 ft above 1,200 ft altitude. Fuel pressure requirement is 30 in. water column.
Why does the NG1250-01 not support LP?
The NG1250-01 uses the PSI 53LHO — the high-output variant of the 53L V16, tuned for maximum natural gas output at 1,250 kWe. LP operation is not compatible with the high-output engine calibration. The spec sheet explicitly lists LP as N/A for all consumption figures. If LP capability is required at this size class, a dual-unit installation using NG1050-01 units is the alternative.
Is the NG1250-01 UL-listed?
UL 2200, cUL, and CSA certifications are not listed on the NG1250-01 spec sheet — unlike the NG1050-01, which carries those listings through 600VAC. The NG1250-01 is EPA-certified and NFPA 110 / CSA C282 compliant. Confirm AHJ requirements with the project authority before specifying this unit where UL listing is required.
How does the NG1250-01 differ from the NG1050-01?
Both use the same PSI 53-series V16 engine in the same 252×106 in footprint. The NG1250-01 uses the high-output 53LHO (1,926 bHp) vs. the standard 53L (1,589 bHp) in the NG1050-01. The NG1250-01 is NG-only, weighs 28,775 lbs (vs. 25,860 lbs for NG1050-01), and produces 93 dBA OPU full-load sound (vs. 92 dBA).
