Blue Star NG1050-01
1050 kW standby / 900 kW prime · Natural Gas / LPG · Liquid-cooled
1050 kW natural gas / LP standby generator from Blue Star Power Systems. PSI 53L V16 turbocharged-aftercooled, DSE DCP7310 controller, three-phase 480-4160V.
The Blue Star NG1050-01 is a 1,050-kilowatt natural gas / LP standby generator built on the PSI 53-liter V16 platform. It is rated 1,050 kWe standby on natural gas and 700 kWe on LP at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM. Available in 480V, 600V, and 4160V three-phase configurations only — no 208V or 240V options. UL 2200 listing applies through 600VAC; the 4160V configuration is not UL-listed.
All configurations carry 125°C standby temperature rise and ±0.5% voltage regulation. UL 2200, cUL, and CSA certifications apply through 600VAC only. The 4160V configuration is not UL-listed.
The PSI 53L V16 is a large and specialized platform. At 16 cylinders, scheduled maintenance (spark plugs, ignition coils) involves significantly more labor than smaller engines. The 45.2 gal oil system requires a planned drain and capture strategy. Parts lead time from PSI is the primary service risk for this low-volume platform in most territories.

Estimate runtime on this tank
Fuel demand at 75% load
11,025,000 BTU/hr≈ 11025.0 cf/min @ 1,000 BTU/cf
On utility natural gas the runtime is generally unlimited provided the supply line and meter can deliver this BTU/hr at the engine's required inlet pressure (typically 5–14" WC residential, up to 5 psi commercial). Confirm against the OEM's published fuel-pressure spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the standby rating of the NG1050-01?
The Blue Star NG1050-01 is rated 1,050 kWe standby on natural gas and 700 kWe standby on LP at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM. Deration is 0.8% per 5°F above 77°F inlet air temperature and 2.5% per 1,000 ft above 1,200 ft altitude — a lower per-degree rate than smaller models, reflecting the engine's thermal mass. Fuel pressure requirement is 30 in. water column.
What engine is in the NG1050-01?
The PSI 53L — a 52.3-liter (3,192 cu in) V16 turbocharged-aftercooled spark-ignition engine producing 1,589 bHp (1,185 kWm) at 1800 RPM standby. The 53L uses the same 5.91-in bore and 7.28-in stroke as the 40L V12 but adds four cylinders for 16 total, increasing displacement proportionally. Oil capacity is 45.2 gal and system coolant is 65.4 gal.
Is the NG1050-01 available at 208V or 240V?
No. The NG1050-01 is offered in 480V, 600V, and 4160V three-phase configurations only. UL 2200, cUL, and CSA certifications apply through 600VAC — the 4160V configuration (Stamford MVWI734F alternator) is not UL-listed.
How does the NG1050-01 LP rating compare to NG output?
The NG1050-01 delivers 700 kWe on LP standby — 67% of the 1,050 kWe NG rating. This is a lower LP-to-NG ratio than smaller models, reflecting the increased thermal loading at megawatt-class output. LP fuel consumption at 100% standby load is 3,867 ft³/hr.
