The unit uses a Deep Sea Electronics DSE7310 controller with full engine and alternator monitoring including speed, oil pressure, coolant temperature, frequency, voltage, current, and power. Fuel consumption is 6.2 L/hr (1.64 GPH) at full load, dropping to 3.5 L/hr (0.92 GPH) at half load.
Our service experience#
The Perkins 404D is one of the most common light-commercial diesel engines in the generator market, found in products from Olympian (Caterpillar's value brand), FG Wilson, and many other integrators. This makes parts sourcing straightforward through the global Perkins dealer network. In our Northern California territory, 20 kW units like this serve small office buildings, retail locations, and branch offices that need reliable backup power without the cost and footprint of a larger system.
