Overview#
The Triton Power TP-P10-T4i-UL is a 10 kW diesel standby generator built around the Perkins 403D-11G three-cylinder engine (1.496 L displacement) and a Leroy Somer LSA40VS1 alternator. It is one of the smallest units in Triton's lineup, designed for light commercial applications where compact footprint and reliable backup power are the primary requirements. The unit carries UL2200 listing for emergency stationary applications and meets EPA Tier 4 Interim emissions standards.
Available in both single-phase (120/240V) and three-phase (120/208V, 277/480V) configurations, the unit uses a Deep Sea Electronics DSE4520 or DSE4510 controller with comprehensive engine and alternator monitoring. Fuel consumption is rated at 3.0 L/hr (0.79 GPH) at full load, dropping to 1.7 L/hr (0.45 GPH) at half load.
Our service experience#
At this power class, the TP-P10-T4i-UL competes with residential-grade units from Generac and Kohler but packages industrial-grade components — a Perkins engine and Leroy Somer alternator — at a value price point. In Northern California, we see units like this deployed at cell towers, small retail locations, and remote monitoring stations. The Perkins 403D engine is a proven platform with straightforward maintenance and good parts availability through the Perkins dealer network.
