Overview#
The Triton Power TP-K40-T4i-UL is a 40 kW standby / 36 kW prime diesel generator powered by the Kubota V3600-T-E3BG-CHN-1 turbocharged V-4 diesel engine (3.6 L displacement) paired with a Leroy Somer LSA42.3M7 alternator. It meets EPA Tier 4 Interim emissions standards and carries UL2200 listing for emergency standby applications. The V-4 engine configuration provides a compact footprint relative to its power output.
Available in three-phase configurations at 120/208V and 277/480V, this unit fills the gap between the 30 kW Kubota models and the 50 kW John Deere-powered units in the Triton lineup. It is the largest Kubota-powered generator in the Triton range.
Our service experience#
The Kubota V3600-T is the turbocharged variant of Kubota's largest V-4 platform. While less common than the V3300 series in generator applications, it shares many service components with the broader V3600 family used in construction equipment. In Northern California, the 40 kW class serves mid-size retail, restaurant, and small office buildings. The UL2200 listing makes this unit eligible for code-required standby installations where the authority having jurisdiction requires listed equipment.
