Overview#
The MQ Power DCA-600 WhisperWatt is the flagship of the WhisperWatt lineup — a 600 kVA (480 kW prime / 528 kW standby) portable diesel generator powered by a Volvo TWD1672GE 16.12L inline-6 engine producing 825 HP. Despite its size, the WhisperWatt Super-Silent enclosure keeps noise to 71 dB(A) at 23 feet.
At nearly 17,600 lbs dry and over 16 feet long, the DCA-600 is a serious piece of equipment. It's deployed to major construction sites, data center temporary power situations, and large-scale emergency response operations where 400-500 kW of portable power is the requirement.
Volvo 16.1L platform#
The TWD1672GE represents the top tier of Volvo's industrial generator-drive engine family. The 16.12L displacement and 825 HP output are matched to the generator end for 480 kW continuous prime power at 1800 RPM. Volvo industrial diesel parts and service are available through their global dealer network.
External fuel strategy#
The 52.8-gallon integral tank is intentionally small — at 31.7 GPH full load, it provides roughly 1.5 hours of runtime. Units in this class connect to external bulk fuel supplies (500-1,000 gallon fuel cubes) on deployment. The integral tank ensures the unit can start, run, and relocate without external fuel infrastructure.
