Overview#
The Doosan G50 delivers 38 kW of prime power (48 kVA) from the same Doosan D24 engine platform used in the smaller G40, sharing the same compact 130.5" x 72.8" enclosure. The 110-gallon integral fuel tank provides 37.2 hours of runtime at full load — a strong advantage for multi-day construction operations.
The G50 slots between the G40 and G70 as a mid-range option for buyers needing more power than 31 kW without stepping up to the larger G70 chassis. Dual-frequency switching (50/60 Hz) comes standard. Also sold as the Bobcat PG50.
CoolBox enclosure and D24 platform commonality#
The G50 shares the exact same CoolBox enclosure footprint (130.5" x 72.8") and D24 engine platform as the G40. For rental fleet operators running both models, this means common filters, common service procedures, and interchangeable enclosure panels. The D24 achieves Tier 4 Final compliance through DOC aftertreatment only — no DPF and no regeneration cycles to manage.
The 37.2-hour runtime at full load from the 110-gallon tank is a standout specification. The D24 running at 38 kW consumes less fuel per kW than the G40 at its rated 31 kW, making the G50 the more fuel-efficient choice when your load genuinely needs the extra capacity.
Our service experience#
OnPoint services Doosan G50 units in the same fleet visits as G40 units — the shared D24 engine and CoolBox enclosure mean our technicians carry the same filters and follow the same procedures for both models. The 250-hour oil change interval and 500-hour fuel filter interval keep maintenance predictable. In Northern California rental fleets, the G50's extended runtime reduces the number of fuel deliveries needed on remote construction sites, which translates to real cost savings on logistics.
