Blue Star NG800-01P
800 kW standby / 660 kW prime · Natural Gas / LPG · Liquid-cooled
660 kW prime-rated natural gas / LP generator from Blue Star Power Systems. PSI 40L V12 turbocharged-aftercooled, DSE DCP7310 controller, three-phase 208-4160V.
The Blue Star NG800-01P is the prime-rated variant of the NG800-01, delivering 660 kWe continuously on natural gas (400 kWe on LP). It uses the identical PSI 40L V12 platform and physical enclosure as the standby NG800-01. Three-phase only — no single-phase option. The NG800-01P carries a 1-year / 1,500-hour prime warranty. UL 2200 listing applies through 600VAC only; the 4160V configuration is not UL-listed.
Both share the same OPU footprint (210×96×103 in, 16,975 lbs), DSE DCP7310 controller, and 30 in. WC fuel pressure requirement.
Note on deration: The NG800-01P prime has substantially better deration tolerance than the standby NG800-01 — 87°F / 5,000 ft vs. 77°F / 1,200 ft. This is one of the most extreme deration differentials between standby and prime variants in the Blue Star gaseous catalog.
Like the standby NG800-01, the NG800-01P requires 30 in. water column inlet fuel pressure. This must be sustained under full prime load — verify site gas infrastructure capacity before specifying.
Service procedures are identical to the NG800-01 standby. Prime-duty use on a 40L V12 (38.6 gal oil, 12 cylinders) means significant maintenance volumes — budget accordingly for more frequent spark plug, ignition coil, and fluid service intervals per PSI's prime-duty schedule.

Estimate runtime on this tank
Fuel demand at 75% load
8,400,000 BTU/hr≈ 8400.0 cf/min @ 1,000 BTU/cf
On utility natural gas the runtime is generally unlimited provided the supply line and meter can deliver this BTU/hr at the engine's required inlet pressure (typically 5–14" WC residential, up to 5 psi commercial). Confirm against the OEM's published fuel-pressure spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the prime rating of the NG800-01P?
The Blue Star NG800-01P is rated 660 kWe prime on natural gas and 400 kWe prime on LP at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM, backed by a 1-year / 1,500-hour prime warranty. The paired standby unit is the NG800-01 at 800 kWe NG / 475 kWe LP standby.
How does fuel consumption compare between NG800-01 and NG800-01P?
At 100% load: NG800-01 standby consumes 9,726 ft³/hr NG (800 kW); NG800-01P prime consumes 7,912 ft³/hr NG (660 kW). LP at 100% prime is 2,438 ft³/hr vs. 2,800 ft³/hr at standby. The 30 in. WC fuel pressure requirement applies to both units.
What are the deration thresholds for the NG800-01P?
The NG800-01P prime has extended deration tolerance: 1.5% per 5°F above 87°F inlet air and 6% per 1,000 ft above 5,000 ft altitude — substantially more tolerant than the standby NG800-01's 77°F / 1,200 ft. This is one of the best deration profiles in the Blue Star gaseous lineup for prime-duty applications.
Is the 4160V configuration on the NG800-01P UL-listed?
No. UL 2200, cUL, and CSA certifications apply through 600VAC only for both the standby NG800-01 and the prime NG800-01P. The 4160V configuration (Stamford MVWI734E) is not UL-listed.
Is single-phase output available on the NG800-01P?
No. The NG800-01P is three-phase only in 208V, 240V, 480V, 600V, and 4160V configurations.
