Overview#

The Blue Star NG300-01P is the prime-rated variant of the NG300-01, delivering 260 kWe continuously on natural gas (175 kWe on LP). It uses the identical PSI 14.6L V8 platform, structural steel base, and enclosure as the standby NG300-01. Three-phase only — no single-phase option.

Both share the same OPU footprint (140 × 78 × 90 in, 9,200 lbs) and DSE DCP7310 controller.

Our service experience#

Service procedures are identical to the NG300-01. Prime-duty operation increases annual hour accumulation; budget spark plug, ignition coil, and coolant service intervals accordingly relative to standby use. Gas supply infrastructure must support the 3-inch NPT fuel connection.

Estimate runtime for the Blue Star NG300-01P

Adjust load percent and tank size to estimate runtime. Pre-filled with this model's spec where available.

Estimate runtime on this tank

Fuel demand at 75% load

3,150,000 BTU/hr3150.0 cf/min @ 1,000 BTU/cf

On utility natural gas the runtime is generally unlimited provided the supply line and meter can deliver this BTU/hr at the engine's required inlet pressure (typically 5–14" WC residential, up to 5 psi commercial). Confirm against the OEM's published fuel-pressure spec.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the prime rating of the NG300-01P?
The Blue Star NG300-01P is rated 260 kWe prime on natural gas (175 kWe on LP) at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM, backed by a 1-year / 1,500-hour prime warranty. The standby counterpart is the NG300-01 at 300 kWe.
Is single-phase output available on the NG300-01P?
No. The NG300-01P is three-phase only, in 208V, 240V, 480V, and 600V configurations — same as the standby NG300-01. Single-phase 240V is not offered at this power level.
How does LP fuel consumption compare between the prime and standby variants?
At 100% prime load (260 kW), the NG300-01P consumes 816 ft³/hr of LP. The standby NG300-01 at 300 kW consumes 933 ft³/hr of LP. The reduction reflects the lower prime output level.
What alternators does the NG300-01P use?
Identical to the standby NG300-01: Stamford S4L1D-E41 for 208V and 240V three-phase; Stamford S4L1D-D41 for 480V; Stamford S4L1S-D4 for 600V. All carry 105°C prime temperature rise and ±0.5% voltage regulation.
