Blue Star NG265-01
265 kW standby / 250 kW prime · Natural Gas / LPG · Liquid-cooled
265 kW natural gas / LP standby generator from Blue Star Power Systems. PSI 14.6L turbocharged V8, DSE DCP7310 controller, structural steel base, 208-600V.
The Blue Star NG265-01 is a 265-kilowatt natural gas / LP standby generator powered by the PSI 14.6L V8 — the step up from the 11.1L inline-six used in the NG200-01. It is rated 265 kWe standby / 250 kWe prime on natural gas (200 kWe standby on LP). The NG265-01 marks the transition to structural steel base construction and pad-type vibration isolation in Blue Star's gaseous product line.
The PSI 14.6L V8 engine is the same platform used in the NG300-01, so technicians familiar with either unit can service both. Water pump, thermostat, and charge-air cooler hoses are critical service items on the V8 platform. The 3-inch NPT fuel inlet (vs. 1.5-inch on the NG150 and 2-inch on the NG200) requires confirmation of adequate gas supply infrastructure before installation.

Adjust load percent and tank size to estimate runtime. Pre-filled with this model's spec where available.
Estimate runtime on this tank
Fuel demand at 75% load
2,782,500 BTU/hr≈ 2782.5 cf/min @ 1,000 BTU/cf
On utility natural gas the runtime is generally unlimited provided the supply line and meter can deliver this BTU/hr at the engine's required inlet pressure (typically 5–14" WC residential, up to 5 psi commercial). Confirm against the OEM's published fuel-pressure spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the standby rating of the NG265-01?
The Blue Star NG265-01 is rated 265 kWe standby on natural gas (200 kWe on LP) at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM. The PSI 14.6L V8 engine produces 456 bHp (340 kWm) at standby. The prime-rated variant is the NG265-01P at 250 kWe on natural gas.
What engine powers the NG265-01?
The PSI 14.6L V8 — a 14.6-liter eight-cylinder turbocharged-aftercooled spark-ignition engine (5.04-inch bore x 5.59-inch stroke, 891 cu in, 10.5:1 compression) rated 456 bHp (340 kWm) at 1800 RPM. The same 14.6L platform also powers the NG300-01, differentiating by tuning rather than displacement.
How does the NG265-01 differ from the NG200-01?
The NG265-01 steps up from the PSI 11.1L inline-six (NG200-01) to the PSI 14.6L V8, gaining 65 kWe of standby capacity. The larger engine also uses a structural steel base (vs. formed steel on the 200-class), pad-type vibration isolation mounts, a 4,000W jacket water heater, and ±0.5% voltage regulation (vs. ±1% on the smaller units). Physical footprint grows to 140 x 78 x 90 in OPU.
What alternators does the NG265-01 use?
The single-phase 240V configuration uses the Stamford HCI534E. The three-phase configurations at 208V, 240V, and 480V all use the Stamford S4L1D-D41; the 600V configuration uses the Stamford S4L1S-D4. All are 125°C standby temperature rise, ±0.5% voltage regulation.
Can the NG265-01 run on LP propane?
Yes. The NG265-01 supports both natural gas and LP propane. LP standby rating is 200 kWe. Required fuel inlet pressure is 11 in. water column; fuel inlet is 3-inch NPT. LP consumption at full standby load is 933 ft³/hr.
