Overview#
The Triton Power TP-S300-T4F is a 300 kW diesel standby generator powered by the Scania DC13 084A inline-six engine (12.7 L displacement, 331 kW / 450 HP) and paired with a Leroy Somer LSA46.3 alternator. It meets EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards for nonroad applications and carries UL2200 listing. The 209-gallon integral fuel tank with 125% fluid containment supports extended runtime without external fuel storage.
The unit features a Deep Sea Electronics DSE7420 controller with comprehensive engine and alternator monitoring. Fuel consumption is rated at 72.3 L/hr (19.1 GPH) at full load, dropping to 37.2 L/hr (9.83 GPH) at half load — competitive for this power class.
Our service experience#
Scania engines are a distinctive feature in Triton's larger models — while most US generator OEMs rely on Cummins, John Deere, or Perkins at this power class, Triton sources from the Swedish truck engine manufacturer known for durability and fuel efficiency. The DC13 platform is widely used in heavy transport and marine applications globally, though US field technicians may be less familiar with it than domestic engine brands. Scania maintains a dealer network in the US, but parts lead times can be longer than Perkins or John Deere in our Northern California service territory. At 300 kW, this unit competes with Cummins C300D6RE and Kohler 300REOZMD at value-tier pricing.
