Overview#
The Triton Power TP-P200-T3-UL is a 200 kW diesel standby generator built on the Perkins 1106D-E70TAG5 turbocharged and aftercooled six-cylinder engine (7.01 L displacement) with a Leroy Somer TAL044 alternator. It carries UL2200 listing and meets EPA Tier 3 for emergency stationary applications. This is a three-phase-only unit available at 277/480V, 120/208V, and 120/240V.
The TAG5 variant of the Perkins 1106D extracts 200 kW standby from the same 7.01 L block used in Triton's 150 kW model, representing the top of that engine platform's output range. Fuel consumption is 54.5 L/hr (14.4 GPH) at full load, dropping to 29.5 L/hr (7.8 GPH) at half load.
Our service experience#
The 200 kW class is a critical sizing threshold for commercial standby — it covers most mid-rise office buildings, large retail centers, and community healthcare facilities. The Perkins 1106D platform at this output level competes with the Cummins 6BTAA5.9 and John Deere 6068H-based generators. In our Northern California territory, the competitive pricing on Triton's Perkins-powered units makes them an attractive alternative when the Perkins dealer network provides adequate local support.
