Overview#
The Triton Power TP-RV1425-T4F is a 1140 kW rental grade twin-pack diesel generator delivering megawatt-plus power from two synchronized Volvo TWD1673GE six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines (16.1 L displacement each) paired with Leroy Somer alternators. The combined output is 1140 kW / 1425 kVA standby and 1040 kW / 1300 kVA prime power at 1800 RPM. Both engines meet EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards through Volvo's integrated aftertreatment system with DOC, DPF, and SCR.
The twin-pack configuration delivers built-in redundancy in a single mobilizable unit — if one engine module requires service, the other continues generating at reduced capacity. The TP-RV1425-T4F features a reinforced sound-attenuated enclosure, heavy-duty steel chassis with engineered crane lifting points, and 125% integrated fluid containment. Available in three-phase configurations (120/208V and 277/480V), it serves as primary power for the largest construction projects, industrial plant turnarounds, data center temporary backup, utility-scale temporary power, and critical infrastructure applications where megawatt-class Tier 4 Final compliant generation with redundancy is essential.
Our service experience#
The Volvo TWD1673GE twin pack is the flagship of Triton's rental grade lineup, and the largest Tier 4 Final compliant rental generator in the range. Volvo's 16.1-liter inline-6 is a proven platform in heavy industrial and power generation applications, with excellent support through the Volvo Penta dealer and parts network across North America. In rental fleet service, these units deploy to the most demanding applications — large-scale commercial construction where utility power is unavailable, data center temporary backup during infrastructure upgrades, industrial plant turnaround main power, and disaster response operations. The twin-pack redundancy provides a critical operational advantage: factory-integrated synchronization and load sharing eliminate the field configuration complexity and failure modes of paralleled standalone units. At 1040 kW prime, fuel and DEF logistics are a primary planning requirement — bulk fuel delivery and on-site storage infrastructure are essential for sustained operation. The rental grade enclosure and heavy-duty chassis are engineered for repeated crane handling and long-distance transport, with structural integrity that supports the demanding mobilization cycles of large rental fleet operations.
