Overview#
The Triton Power TP-P1500-T2-UL is a 1500 kW diesel standby generator powered by the Perkins 5012C-E46TAG6 V12 engine — a 45.84 L turbocharged and aftercooled powerplant producing 1,645 kWm (2,206 HP) at 1800 RPM (bore 160 mm x stroke 190 mm, 13.8:1 compression ratio). It is paired with a Leroy Somer LSA50.2L8 alternator, carries UL2200 listing, and meets EPA Tier 2 for emergency stationary applications.
Available in three-phase only at 277/480V and 120/208V. Fuel consumption is 359 L/hr (94.84 GPH) at full load, dropping to 195 L/hr (51.51 GPH) at half load.
The Perkins 5000 series V-configuration#
The Perkins 5012C is a V12 diesel engine — the largest in Perkins' power generation lineup. The V-configuration keeps the engine length manageable despite the 45.84 L displacement, which matters for generator packaging in mechanical rooms where floor space is constrained. This is a proven platform shared across FG Wilson, Olympian, and other Perkins-powered generator brands in the 1000-2000 kW class.
Our service experience#
At 1500 kW, this unit serves mission-critical facilities — large hospitals, data centers, industrial plants, and campuses with substantial electrical loads. The Perkins 5012C V12 competes with Caterpillar 3516-based generators and Cummins QSK60 offerings. In Northern California, generators at this output level are typically specified for NFPA 110 compliance and require regular load bank testing, fuel polishing, and oil analysis as part of a comprehensive maintenance program. The Perkins dealer network provides strong support for the 5000 series.
