Overview#
The Triton Power TP-P1000-T2-S-UL is a 1000 kW diesel standby generator — one of the largest single-engine units in Triton's lineup. It is powered by the Perkins 5008C-E30TAG5 eight-cylinder turbocharged and aftercooled engine (30.56 L displacement, 1107 kW / 1484 HP) and paired with a Leroy Somer TAL049 alternator. The unit carries UL2200 listing and meets EPA Tier 2 emissions standards for emergency stationary applications.
The unit features a Deep Sea Electronics DSE7310 controller with comprehensive monitoring. Fuel consumption is rated at 248 L/hr (65.5 GPH) at full load, dropping to 130 L/hr (34.3 GPH) at half load. Oil capacity is 153 liters and coolant capacity is 140 liters — substantial fluid volumes that require planning for maintenance.
Our service experience#
At the megawatt class, buyers typically evaluate Caterpillar, Cummins, and MTU. Triton enters this conversation as a value alternative — the Perkins 5008C engine family packages at a lower price point than the premium OEMs. The trade-off is reduced brand recognition among specifying engineers and a shorter 1-year warranty compared to the 2-5 years offered by premium OEMs. For large commercial and industrial projects where the specification allows substitutions and acquisition cost is a primary driver, the TP-P1000-T2-S-UL offers megawatt-class power at value-tier pricing.
