Overview#
The Triton Power TP-P900-T2-UL is a 900 kW standby / 810 kW prime diesel generator powered by the Perkins 5008C-E30TAG4 turbocharged inline-8 engine (30.56 L displacement) paired with a Leroy Somer alternator. It meets EPA Tier 2 emissions standards for emergency stationary applications and carries UL2200 listing. The inline-8 configuration provides smooth power delivery at this output level, and the 30.56-liter displacement ensures ample torque reserve for motor starting and transient loads.
Available in three-phase configurations at 120/208V and 277/480V, this is one of the largest generators in the Triton lineup. It serves data centers, hospitals, large industrial facilities, and campus-level standby power installations.
Our service experience#
The Perkins 5008C Series inline-8 is the flagship of the Perkins power generation engine range, also found in FG Wilson P1000 and P1100 series generators. At 900 kW, this unit competes with Caterpillar C32-based and Cummins QSK38-based generators. In Northern California, generators in this power class are typically found at major hospitals, data centers, and large manufacturing facilities. The Perkins dealer network provides field service and parts support for the 5008C Series, though lead times on major components can be longer than for the more common 1100 and 2500 Series engines.
