Overview#
The Triton Power TP-H800-T2-UL is an 800 kW diesel standby generator powered by the Hyundai DP222CB turbocharged V-8 engine with 21.9 L displacement. Rated at 800 kW / 1000 kVA standby and 728 kW / 910 kVA prime, this unit represents Triton's Hyundai-powered entry in the high-capacity standby market. It carries UL2200 listing and meets EPA Tier 2 emissions standards.
Paired with a Leroy Somer alternator, the TP-H800-T2-UL delivers three-phase power at 120/208V and 277/480V. The Hyundai DP222 engine series is manufactured by Hyundai Doosan Infracore (now HD Hyundai Infracore) and is used in power generation applications globally. At 800 kW, this unit fills the gap between Triton's Perkins 750 kW and 1000 kW offerings with a cost-effective alternative engine platform.
Our service experience#
Hyundai (Doosan) engines have gained market share in the power generation sector, particularly in cost-sensitive applications where proven reliability is needed without premium-brand pricing. The DP222CB shares its architecture with engines used in Doosan-branded generators, so parts and service knowledge transfer well. For facilities prioritizing total cost of ownership, the Hyundai-powered Triton units offer a compelling value proposition at the 800-900 kW class.
