The Cat D100 GC is a 100-kilowatt diesel standby generator from Caterpillar's GC value-engineered product line. Built around the proven C4.4 turbocharged inline-4 engine, it delivers Cat-grade reliability in a streamlined package optimized for commercial standby applications.
Value-engineered, not value-compromised#
The "GC" designation means Cat has optimized the bill of materials for the most common standby use case — automatic transfer on utility loss, run until utility returns, automatic cooldown and return to standby. The C4.4 engine underneath is the same proven platform used across Cat's construction and industrial equipment worldwide.
Our service perspective#
We service the full Cat GC lineup alongside the standard C-series. Parts are interchangeable with the standard C4.4 platform, and Cat's dealer network stocks common maintenance items. The GC's simplified control panel means fewer configuration options but also fewer failure points — a good trade-off for straightforward standby applications.
