Blue Star NG400-01P
400 kW standby / 375 kW prime · Natural Gas / LPG · Liquid-cooled
375 kW prime-rated natural gas / LP generator from Blue Star Power Systems. PSI 21.9L V12, DSE DCP7310 controller, structural steel base, three-phase 208-600V.
The Blue Star NG400-01P is the prime-rated variant of the NG400-01, delivering 375 kWe continuously on natural gas (250 kWe on LP). It uses the identical PSI 21.9L V12 platform and physical enclosure as the standby NG400-01. Three-phase only — no single-phase option.
Both share the same OPU footprint (156 × 86 × 98 in, 10,850 lbs) and DSE DCP7310 controller.
Note on deration: The NG400-01P prime variant uses standard deration thresholds (77°F / 1,200 ft), while the standby NG400-01 has extended tolerance (97°F / 3,200 ft). At high-altitude or high-ambient sites, verify which rating applies to the duty cycle before specifying.
Service procedures are identical to the NG400-01. The prime-duty use pattern means higher annual hour accumulation on the V12 — budget for 12-cylinder spark plug and ignition coil service (more frequent than standby units) and confirm oil/coolant change intervals with PSI's prime-duty maintenance schedule.

Estimate runtime on this tank
Fuel demand at 75% load
4,200,000 BTU/hr≈ 4200.0 cf/min @ 1,000 BTU/cf
On utility natural gas the runtime is generally unlimited provided the supply line and meter can deliver this BTU/hr at the engine's required inlet pressure (typically 5–14" WC residential, up to 5 psi commercial). Confirm against the OEM's published fuel-pressure spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the prime rating of the NG400-01P?
The Blue Star NG400-01P is rated 375 kWe prime on natural gas (250 kWe on LP) at 60 Hz / 1800 RPM, backed by a 1-year / 1,500-hour prime warranty. The standby counterpart is the NG400-01 at 400 kWe.
What are the deration factors for the NG400-01P?
The NG400-01P uses the standard deration factors: 1.5% per 10°F above 77°F inlet air temperature; 2.5% per 1,000 ft above 1,200 ft altitude. This differs from the standby NG400-01, which has extended tolerance (97°F and 3,200 ft). Confirm site conditions when comparing prime vs. standby specifications at altitude or in hot climates.
How does fuel consumption compare between NG400-01 and NG400-01P?
At 100% standby load (400 kW), the NG400-01 consumes 4,521 ft³/hr NG. At 100% prime load (375 kW), the NG400-01P consumes 4,232 ft³/hr NG — reflecting the lower prime output. LP at 100% prime is 1,185 ft³/hr vs. 1,401 ft³/hr at standby.
Is single-phase output available on the NG400-01P?
No. The NG400-01P is three-phase only, in 208V, 240V, 480V, and 600V configurations — identical to the standby NG400-01.
What alternators does the NG400-01P use?
Identical to the standby NG400-01: Stamford HCI534C for 208V and 240V three-phase; Stamford S4L1D-F41 for 480V; Stamford HCI534C for 600V. All carry 105°C prime temperature rise and ±0.5% voltage regulation.
