Overview#
The Olympian GEP110 is a 110 kW diesel generator powered by the Perkins 1104C-44TAG2 — a 4.4-liter inline-4 engine representing the top of the Perkins 1100 Series four-cylinder range for generator applications. Delivering three-phase 277/480V power at 60 Hz, the GEP110 serves the upper end of the mid-range commercial standby market: larger office buildings, multi-story retail, hospitality properties, and light industrial facilities.
The 1104C variant of the Perkins 4.4-liter platform features enhanced fuel injection and turbocharging calibration compared to the 1104A used in the smaller GEP65 and GEP88, extracting maximum output from the four-cylinder architecture before the step up to the six-cylinder 1106 engine in the GEP150. This makes the GEP110 the most power-dense four-cylinder option in the Olympian GEP lineup.
At 110 kW, the GEP110 occupies a competitive class alongside the Cummins C100D6, Kohler 100REOZJF, and Generac SD100. The Olympian's value-tier pricing combined with Caterpillar dealer service access makes it attractive for commercial building operators who need 100+ kW backup power without the premium cost of a Cat C-Series unit. The four-cylinder engine also offers a smaller footprint than six-cylinder alternatives in this power class, which can be advantageous on space-constrained commercial sites.
