Overview#
The Generac MG200 is a 200 kW modular natural gas generator rated at 200 kW / 250 kVA standby (180 kW / 225 kVA prime) at 60 Hz. It uses a Generac turbocharged 14.2L inline-6 spark-ignited engine and is built on the Modular Power System (MPS) platform with a Power Zone Pro Sync controller for factory-integrated paralleling capability. The MPS architecture enables N+1 redundancy configurations where multiple MG units operate in parallel. Natural gas fuel eliminates on-site diesel storage requirements and associated permitting.
Our Service Experience#
The MG200 uses the proven Generac 14.2L inline-6 turbocharged engine at 200 kW (155 psi BMEP per the spec sheet), a moderate loading for this platform. Exhaust temperatures reach 1,378 F at rated output. The Power Zone Pro Sync controller manages paralleling and load sharing when multiple MG units are deployed. With 6 spark plugs per unit, ignition maintenance is straightforward. Gas supply sizing must account for the 2,460 CFH demand at full load.
