Series Overview#
The Cummins QSK Series represents the top tier of Cummins' industrial generator portfolio, spanning 500 to 3,750 kW. These generators are powered by the QSK engine family — ranging from the QSK23 (23-liter) through the QSK95 (95-liter) — in V12, V16, and V18 configurations. The QSK platform is engineered for the most demanding stationary power applications: data centers, hospitals, water treatment plants, and other mission-critical infrastructure where failure is not an option.
QSK-powered generators feature Cummins PowerCommand digital paralleling controllers, enabling multi-unit paralleling arrays for megawatt-scale backup power installations. The engines use high-pressure common rail fuel injection, full-authority electronic controls, and advanced turbocharging systems to deliver high power density with controlled emissions. Available configurations include Tier 2 emergency standby and Tier 4 Final for prime and continuous duty applications.
The QSK engine family has established a strong reputation in data center applications, where Cummins competes directly with Caterpillar and MTU for large-scale backup power installations. The combination of proven reliability, Cummins' global service network, and the platform's track record in Uptime Institute-certified facilities makes the QSK Series a standard specification in critical infrastructure projects.
