Overview#
Phoenix Products UL 2085 protected tanks provide 2-hour fire-rated fuel storage for diesel generator installations. Required by many building codes and insurance carriers for indoor fuel storage and for outdoor tanks within specified distances from buildings. The 2085 listing means the tank assembly has been tested to withstand a 2-hour fire exposure, vehicle impact, and ballistic impact. Significantly heavier and more expensive than UL 142 tanks but necessary for code-compliant installations in occupied buildings.
