Overview#
The DSE 8610 MkII is Deep Sea Electronics' advanced paralleling controller — designed for multi-generator installations requiring synchronization, load sharing, and high-availability communication. It's the paralleling counterpart to the DSE 7320 (single-set standby controller), adding the intelligence needed for generators to work together on a common bus.
Deep Sea Electronics (UK) is the world's largest generator controller manufacturer by volume. The 8610 MkII represents their flagship paralleling platform.

When to choose DSE 8610#
- Data centers: native SNMP for IT monitoring integration
- Mission-critical: redundant MSC for zero-interruption communication
- Permanent installations: front-panel configuration without laptop
- Cost sensitivity: DSEWebNet monitoring is free (no subscription)
- Multi-brand service: DSE is the most commonly encountered controller across brands
Our service experience#
The DSE 8610 MkII is the most common paralleling controller in our commercial fleet. We configure these for hospital paralleling systems, data center N+1 arrays, and campus distribution. The DSE Configuration Suite software is straightforward, and front-panel parameter adjustment handles most field changes without a laptop. The most common service issue: CAN bus termination errors on initial commissioning (must have 120Ω resistors at both ends of the bus).
