Overview#
The Doosan G150 extracts 123 kW of prime power (154 kVA) from a higher-output Cummins QSB5-G12 variant on the same 4.5-liter platform and chassis as the G125. At 68 dBA and 6,990 lbs, the G150 provides a 23% power increase over the G125 without changing the footprint.
This model fills the gap between the G125 (100 kW) and G190 (145 kW), offering buyers a step-up option without jumping to the significantly larger DualBox-enclosed G190 chassis. Also sold as the Bobcat PG150.
Cummins QSB5 platform and chassis commonality with G125#
The G150 shares everything with the G125 except the engine tune — the QSB5-G12 variant extracts 23% more power from the same 4.5-liter displacement through higher boost and fueling. This means identical filters, identical service procedures, and interchangeable enclosure panels for fleet operators running both models.
Like the G125, the G150 achieves Tier 4 Final without a DPF. For buyers considering the step up to the G190, note that the G190 moves to the significantly larger DualBox enclosure (224" x 83.2" vs. the G150's compact chassis) and a Cummins QSB7 6.7-liter engine — a meaningful jump in size and weight from 6,990 lbs to 11,377 lbs.
Our service experience#
OnPoint services Doosan G150 units alongside G125s in Northern California fleets. The shared QSB5 platform means our technicians carry the same filters and follow the same procedures for both models. The G150 is the highest-output generator Doosan offers before stepping up to the DualBox enclosure design, making it the right choice for operators who need more than 100 kW but want to stay within a compact, lighter-weight package. Cummins parts availability in the Bay Area is excellent through multiple distributors.
