The Cat D250 GC is a 250-kilowatt diesel standby generator that introduces the C9 inline-6 engine to Cat's GC value-engineered line. At 9.3 liters, the C9 provides substantially more displacement and reserve capacity than the C7.1, entering the mid-commercial power segment.

Moving from the C7.1 (7.1L) to the C9 (9.3L) brings a significant increase in displacement and thermal margin.
